The Caraga police said that from 2011 to 2013, six police officers were dismissed. Last year, another five police officers were dismissed from service due to the same reason: illegal drugs.

Officials, however, did not identify the officers dismissed and those with pending cases.

Officials also said that from Jan. 1 to June 15, this year, police were able to confiscate illegal drugs amounting to a total of P26.4 million across the region.

This amount comes from arresting 462 people in 330 operations conducted in Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Dinagat Islands, and Butuan.

Agusan del Sur topped the number of people arrested because of illegal drugs with 134, followed by Agusan del Norte with 97, and Butuan ranked third with 95 arrests.

Surigao del Norte ranked fourth with 80 persons arrested while Surigao del Sur registered 40 arrests from Jan. 1 to June 15. Dinagat registered only two arrests.
