Barangay chairman Ruel Pistolante said the families are  presently staying at the  municipal auditorium, and they need supplies like clothings, hygiene kits and food, among others.

He said many were not able to bring with them their things in a hurry to save their lives.

No one was reported hurt  although, practically, there was nothing left of the houses that were made mostly of combustible materials.

Pistolante said he hopes that the Sangguniang Bayan would convene soonest even as the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Council is also doing its best to aid the victims.

The  fire victims were living in a property owned by the Olayvar family, and it was not clear if the victims would be able to return and rebuild.

Elizabeth Abduraman of the local Department of Social Welfare and Development here said they are still gathering data on the fire victims to justify the release of an initial aid of P100 thousand.

Linamon is an adjacent barangay to this city and right now, some concerned citizens have answered to the call to send relief aid for the victims.
