Just as the members of the family of a recently slain drug suspect who was shot and killed three days ago are still in mourning, operatives again engaged in a shootout and killed another two suspects in a buy-bust operation.

Chief Insp. Rogelio Labor, Claveria police station commander, identified the victims as Curly Salcedo, 33; and Robert Pagtalunan, 35, both residing at Barangay Bugo, this city.

Salcedo, according to the police was the top 7 Provincial target list by the Philippines Drug Enforcement Administration and the Philippine National Police.

The incident took placed at sitio Kakawan, Barangay Patrocinio, Claveria, Misamis Oriental at 10 pm Thursday.

The operation was conducted by the Claveria police and the Provincial Intelligence Branch under Police Chief Inspector Esperidion Biadon 111.

It was learned that during the buy-bust Salcedo had sensed that what he was transacting was a police officer, pulled a gun and shot directly hitting PO1 Oscar Mabayu twice hitting his abdomen.

Luckily, the bullets did not pierce through the body as the policeman wore a bulletproof vest.

This prompted Mabayu’s back up to return fire wounding the suspects in the different parts of their bodies.

Policemen rushed the two to the nearest hospital at the town only to be declared dead by an attending physician.

Confiscated from Salcedo were three sachets containing suspected shabu, eight elongated sachets containing suspected shabu; one big heat sealed with suspected shabu.

One caliber .45 with one magazine containing one live ammunition; and P1,000 buy-bust money, personal money of the suspect; and a motorcycle.

While from Pagtalunan police recovered three sachets with a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, a caliber .38 revolver with one live bullet and three empty shells

In an interview with Salcedo’s girlfriend who refused to be named denied that Salcedo owned a gun nor was using illegal drugs.

Last Tuesday, a certain  Drecklie Jones Ravidas, alias “Ampo,” 19, residing at sitio Estakahan, Barangay Agusan, this city was killed after raiding policemen shot him during a buy-bust operation.

Ravidas, according to law enforcers was the one who made the first shot towards them but missed. The police just fired back and hit the suspect.
