BUTUAN City–Authorities arrested four suspected New People’s Army (NPA) leaders and members, and seized high-powered firearms from them in Sitio Lamosig, Barangay Tungao here on Friday.

Caraga police director Chief Supt. Rolando Felix identified the suspects as Roldan Bungolto, alleged commander of a Militia ng Bayan group and team leader of an NPA liquidation squad, and Danilo Acania, alleged former deputy secretary of the NPA’s Guerrilla Front Committee 4-A and commander of an NPA platoon.

Acania allegedly has an arrest warrant for frustrated murder and multiple murder.

Capt. Jasper Gacayan, 401st Brigade spokesman, identified two other suspects: Rolando Borja a.k.a. Jek-jek, and Tata Borja a.k.a. Anatalio Pison.

Officials said the suspects yielded two M16 armalite rifles, two sniper rifles, an AK47, two caliber .45 pistols, two caliber .38 revolvers, and a caliber .22 gun, two grenades, a crude bomb with detonating cord and blasting caps, and subversive documents.

Police are preparing charges of illegal possession of explosives, firearms and ammunitions against the suspects who have been placed under detention.
