Despite preference that local and foreign tourist prefers Cagayan de Oro for its peace and order condition, the chairman of the 2019 Budget deliberations still has raised concern over alleged poor tourism condition in the city.

Chairman of the 2019 city’s budget deliberations and committee on finance and appropriations Councilor Edna Dahino claimed that the city performance in developing and propagating tourism industry is still in poor condition.

“There should be a concrete plan on what particular tourism destination to be developed that promote Cagayan de Oro,” she said.

She said Cagayan de Oro should start showcasing tourism industry just like other cities and provinces that would surely generate income to the local residents and to the hotel industries.

“Kana bang mo-ingon ang mga foreign and local tourist nga adto ta sa Cagayan de Oro kay nay nindot nga lugar didto,” she added.

Dahino said tourism industry in Cagayan de Oro should have excel other areas considering that there were nice places that still needs to be develop and improved others sites and programs.

However, during city council weekly radio program, “Ang Konseho Karon” over Magnum Radio, City Councilor Romeo Calizo claimed that current peace and order situation of the city has boosted the tourism industry.
