Since August the fiesta month of my beloved city, I thought why not talk about the good eats of Cagayan de Oro City. When we visit a certain destination, one of the things we think about is where we should eat. When you are up for food adventure, you just want to cross out the food chains on your list and try something the locals would recommend. Good thing Cagayan De Oro is not only known for its people and forming golden friendships with locals or tourists, the city is also known for its food. Hence, may I present to you some of the best homegrown restaurants in this city of boom, bloom and blossom.

BREAKFAST

Missy Bonbon – Located at Limketkai Center. Try their choco monster pancakes, pastel and gelato for only 65php-110php. Open Daily, 6am-10:30 pm.

Pop Rock Cafe – Located at L&A Pabayo Building, Tiano Bros Street. Try their Banoffee at 80 php. Open Monday to Friday, 9am-9pm/Saturday-Sunday 10am-9pm.

Circa 1850 – Located at Red Planet Hotel, Claro M. Recto Ave. Try their Bistecca Florentina. Open Daily, 7am-10pm.

Butcher’s Best Barbeque- Located at Hayes Street. Try their original sisig and grilled pork belly. Open Daily, 8am-8pm.

Kagay-anon Restaurant- Located at Limketkai Center. Try their Bihod, Pinakbet and Krispy Kangkong. Open Daily, 9am-8pm.

Panagatan Seafood Restaurant – Located at third floor Centrio Mall and their other branch at Opol. Try their Bilao Sets. Open Daily, 10am-9pm.
