]ILIGAN City — In a meeting over the weekend of Kazalimbago (Reform) Movement of Marawi City, it was learned that 52 persons are still missing in the siege on May 23, last year.

Jane Marigold Perez, Ranao Rescue Team, Team Leader of Management of the Dead and Missing during the Marawi siege last May 23 reported that their latest monitoring the fate of the missing persons has not been ascertained.

She said that their informants revealed that at the start they were still receiving text messages from the those who later became missing.

She added that there were others who were able to flee but could no longer be traced by relatives while others were seen riding on military vehicles to unknown destinations.

Kazalambago Movement Chairperson Samira Ali Gutoc-Tomawis disclosed that unrecognizable cadavers were later recovered at the site but these were never identified.

She said that NBI-Iligan which has the capability to conduct DNA testing on the unidentified cadavers were not tapped by the authorities in Marawi.

She told this paper that their movement is now concerned with locating the missing persons and identifying the dead bodies.
