Iligan City — Areas served under the Iligan Light and Power, Inc will experience a power outage from 8 am to 5 pm this coming Saturday, an executive of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines announced yesterday.

Elizabeth Ladaga, NGCP communications specialist, said the power outage is part of a “maintenance activity.”

The maintenance activity will correct the “low sag” along Agus 6-Mapalad 69 KV line at Steeltown, this city.

Ladaga, however, assured that they will exert all efforts to restore power earlier or as scheduled.

The NGCP is a consortium of private companies, created under Republic Act 9511, that includes Monte Oro Resources Grid Corp, Calaca High Company and State Grid of China.

As franchise holder, it is in charge of operating, managing, maintaining, and expanding the country’s power grid, through the National Transmission Corp, controls the supply and demand of power through the selection of power plants to be on line.
