A VERY successful businessman, George Goking is a man who is always where his heart is – community service.

Even before his foray into politics, he has been in every nook and corner of the city doing socio-civil activities – from blood-banking, medical and dental missions, volunteering is security efforts as reservist of the Philippine Air Force, as consultant of the National Bureau of Investigation, Boys Scouts, alumni association – you name it, George is there.

Elected city councilor in 2016, Kagawad Goking is the natural go-to person of the Moreno administration on business matters and ways means. He is the chairman of the City Council Committee on Ways and Means; Committee on Trade and Commerce; and Committee on Economic Enterprises. He has afterall, at least two decades of business experience, as Chief Executive Officerof MLH Marketing from 1997 – 2000 and MN Enterprises in 1980 to 1997. He graduated Bachelor of Science in Management – major in Accountancy in 1979.

He is active in price monitoring and consistently one of the earliest voices when prices of basic commodities misbehave.

Every vote counts: An important principle which is often overlooked during the local elections. We elect officials, not just to have familiar faces in government, but also to ensure that our best interests as tax-paying citizens are given a majority vote during council hearings. Such hearings construct or modify local laws, projects, and future developments that are core to everyday governance of the city.

Luckily, Team OKKA has carefully constructed a lineup of candidates with hearts and minds that are geared towards the same goal of improving the lives of Kagayanons through further developing our local economy which should generate more jobs, higher income, better social services and facilities, and target other important concerns efficiently and effectively through a unified city council and political administration.

Speaking of local officials, City Councilor  George S. Goking stands out because of his hard work and business acumen brought into local governance. He effectively interfaces with the business sector as the Chairman of the Committees: Trade and Commerce and Ways and Means and Means Committee,

Kagawad Goking works to ensure that there is a sound policy environment that creates more business opportunities and increase in local investments, which are vital in jobs creation.

And to make sure the people get the best value for their hard earned money, Kagawad Goking goes out of the comfort zone of his City Council office to go around and monitor prices of basic commodities like rice, gasoline, and other basic needs; stricter implementation of consumer and job welfare – all of these to be carried out as he has always approach matters of concern with Cagayan de Oro City, through public consultation, public-private-partnerships, and national assistance.

George Goking has been known to be a man of swift action and whole hearted dedication when providing his support during times of need long before he joined the political arena. Having been closely trained by the pioneering Jesuits of Cagayan de Oro City, it is second nature to him to act in the spirit of being a man for others. In his pursuit of the greater good in his deeds, he has proven time after time, that he never falls short of his commitment and more often than not does he deliver more than what is expected.

Many government officials can be classified as professional politicians. But having served his time, Mr. George Goking definitely deserves another term to administer greater changes than what he has already provided in his on-going term – because he has proven himself worth of the title “Public Servant” beyond every other title he may possess.

If God willing, his second term will not be anything close to a walk on the beach without the support of his handpicked companions from Congress down to his fellow councilors in Team OKKA. It is a dream to have a local administration composed of men and women with unified goals and beliefs. A dream that can come true in the 2019.

As every vote matters in the council – so does every vote during next year’s election. For the future of our dreams, careers, and much more – our family. Vote wisely!
