Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental – Team Aloran snagged home the 2017 3vs3 Basketball Tour championship title after nipping Giptey’s Oroquieta, 21-19, last Sunday night at the ABC Gym here.

Toto Delina sank the game-winning shot at the charity stripe to seal the intense win for the team who were mostly anchored by players from Ozamiz City.

The 6-foot-4 Ozamiz native Delina led Aloran with his 13 points and eight rebounds including his game-winning free-throw off a 10-team foul penalty with 1:04 left in the clock.

Mar Navarro and Denmark Taan spearheaded the home team with seven points apiece.

“We are thankful that the event was a success and I congratulate both teams for reaching this far,” the event’s Head for Basketball Operations Isidro Animas said.

Delina, on the other hand, also took home the Slam Dunk Competition honors while teammate Robert Valconcha also finished as champion of three-point shooutout competition.

Valconcha, who has played in various 3-on-3 competitions around the world, backed up Delina with five points. He also bagged the Most Valuable Player Award.

Delina also won the Defensive Player of the Tournament award while Giptey’s-Oroquieta’s Navarro was crowned as Clutch Performer of the tournament.

JR Jalem of BBC-Ozamiz was awarded the Col. Angeles Centino Sportsmanship Award while Navarro, Valconcha, and team Johann’s guard Christian Tamparong were among the tournament’s Mythical Three awardees.

The two-day event was organized by 3-3 Events and Sports and co-presented by Misamis Occidental Provincial Board Member Richard ‘Voting’ Centino, in cooperation with the City Government of Oroquieta and Kamayan Pilipino Home Cuisine. pr
