Wolf was caught in the house of his girlfriend in Barangay Hermando, Balingasag, Misamis Oriental at around 2 pm on Tuesday. He was then brought to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) where he spent the night in detention.

Wolf stayed for 10 months in Balingasag, hiding from Immigration authorities because he did not want to leave his 37-year old fiancee Bembie Padilla whom he met via the Internet.

Wolf said he had planned to stay in the cuntry as a tourist for one month but he spent all his money and could no longer afford to return to the US.

Wolf said he wanted to marry Padilla but he no longer had the money for a wedding. And so, the American said, he started working in Balingasag.

“I worked here as a carpenter,” he told reporters. In the US, Wolf worked as an automotive mechanic.

Wolf also confessed to having a criminal record in the US. He said he spent five years in an American prison for arson 15 years ago. (nitz arancon)
