THE 14TH drug suspect to be killed in the city in line with the government’s bloody “war on drugs” was no different from others killed before him: he fired shots with a caliber .38 revolver but missed and so, officers supposedly returned fire and killed him.

But this time, friends of slain suspect Drickly Jones Ravidas rejected the police narrative. They told local radio Ravidas owned no gun, was not into drugs, and they doubt that he fought law enforcers.

Police said the 19-year-old Ravidas a.k.a. Ampo was shot and killed during a buy-and-bust operation in Barangay Agusan shortly past midnight yesterday.

Police alleged that the suspect was armed with a revolver, and had two sachets of suspected shabu, and a P500 “drug money” with him.

Galagala said Ravidas was allegedly the leader of the so-called “Final Option Gang” that is blamed for several robbery and theft cases in  Divisoria, Carmen and Agora in Lapasan.

Galagala said Ravidas sold shabu to an undercover cop and thenused the revolver when he realized he was about to be arrested. He said the suspect missed.

“Mao tong mibalos ang akong mga pulis ila pud gipusil si Ampo sa dughan,” Galagala said.

Ravidas was rushed to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center where he was declared dead at around 12:55 am.
