City Mayor Oscar Moreno announced during press conference Monday.

The Beneficiaries will be the Muslim-Christian Homeowners Association.

Archbishop Antonio Ledesma of the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro said the project would be a model community for peacebuilding.

To be built in Lower Palalan, Lumbia, the entire area for the 223 houses will be 2.4 hectares. Each unit will be 48 square meters.

It would be a single detached and duplex-type units.

Moreno said the role of the city government will be to handle site clearing and land development, as well as issue necessary permits and documents.

Tinabanga lang ni sa gobyerno sa syudad ug sa ubang ahensya ug sa archdiose,” Moreno explained.

The project, which the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro assisted in mobilizing and organizing the community-beneficiaries, will be funded by Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC)

The SHFC will serve as the project funder or financier by granting a loan to the association for lot purchase and construction of housing units and facilities.

Lawyer Ricardo Cabling, SHFC president said, the units are not free but each house owner will pay depending on the type of units they want.

Cabling said the construction will start immediately within this month as soon as all the requirements will have been complied.

The target date for completion will be before this year ends.

Earth-Based Habitat Builders will take charge of the actual housing construction and other facilities such as roads, drainage, water and electrical connection.
