COTABATO City — Alexander G. Alonto, Jr was finally confirmed as regional secretary after going through deliberation before the members of the Regional Legislative Assembly of the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (Armm) Committee on Agriculture and Food, recently.
The Committee chaired by Ahmad Ali S. Ismael and co-chaired by Ziaur-Rahman A. Adiong found Alonto to be qualified and competent based on Committee Report No. 1 favoring the nomination/confirmation of the executive by the Commission on Appointments-Armm.
All 18 members of the assembly unanimously voted yes to approve Alonto’s confirmation.
Those who voiced their confidence over Alonto before voting were Assemblywomen Nedra S. Burahan and Irene Tillah, Assemblymen Ismael, Adiong, and Abol Alam Padate.
In his short message after he took his oath before Speaker Datu Roonie Q. Sinsuat, Assemlyman Adiong and members of the august body, Alonto expressed gratitude towards Armm Regional Governor Mujiv S. Hataman’s confidence on him to serve the people of the Armm.
Secretary Alonto pledged to do his best to perform what is expected of him as agriculture secretary of the region.
Present during Alonto’s confirmation were his family, DA-Armm officials and employees. Armm Vice Governor Haroun-Al Rashid Lucman and other Armm personalities attended to share the thanksgiving with the newly-confimed official. (Teng Datu)
