Iligan City — The wife of Omar Maute who was arrested Sunday morning in this city is a “silent fighter,”

Thus said Brig. Gen. Roseller G. Murillo, Commander of the 1st Infantry Division. He added that Minhati Madrais was brought to this city a few hours after the Marawi seige began which Omar Maute facilitated.

Murillo, whose area of responsibility includes Zamboanga Peninsula, Lanao provinces and Misamis Oriental added that Madrais provided support to the fighters in the matter of logistics, and financial.

To recall, Madrais, 36 was arrested on the basis of an arrest, search and seizure order from the Department of  National Defense.

Senior Supt. Leony Roy Ga, this city’s police chief said that she will be investigated for possible links to the Maute group. Found in her possession were 4 blasting caps, 2 detonating cords and a fuse.

Her husband Omar was reported killed along with Isnilon Hapilon of the Abu Sayyaf during military operations on Oct. 16.
