Dr. Angelito Y. Quirog, Training Superintendent II announced that the said website was developed by the ATI for farmers to advertise for free their products, farms and services.

It was gathered that access to the website by consumers of excellent quality products and services makes trading very convenient.

Mayor Oscar Moreno of Cagayan de Oro welcomed the participants to the occasion which was dubbed, “The Grand Eyeball of Buyers and Sellers.”

Farm products whether processed or raw from the farms of Magsasaka Siyentista and ATI-Inspired Learning Sites were exhibited as the main activity during the program.

ATI-Inspired Learning Sites from all over Region X exhibited their products consisting of planting materials, fresh farm products, processed food and even organic fertilizers and pesticides.

Magsasaka Siyentistas are farmers who have introduced innovations or formulated new products and processes in the agriculture sector.

They are also continuously making scientific experiments to create new products and improve existing ones, it was said.

ATI Inspired Learning Sites are located right at the sites of farmers who met certain requirements set by ATI.  These farms conduct training programs and demonstrations on production including food processing for farmers/clients within the locality.

It was also learned that ATI is now inspiring the establishment of Farm Tourism Destinations.

One of these destinations is the Huyuhoy Resort in Tangub City which was introduced by its owner, former Governor Leo Ocampos of Misamis Occidental, who gave the closing remarks during the opening program.

Ocampos said that his engagement in farming and development of the said resort have made him a very happy man.

He shared that he usually ends his day very tired but full inspired and fulfilled.

He encouraged everyone to go back to farming for it gives not only happiness and peaceful life but it also helps feed hundreds of other Filipinos.

ATI Superintendent Quirog encouraged everybody especially the youth who attended to engage in farming not only as a means of livelihood but a business enterprise for it is also very profitable.

He said that many successful farmers today are also driving their own luxury cars.

Finally, Quirog concluded that it is only in farming that food sufficiency can be achieved.
