Members of the Bagobo-Tagabawa community in barangay Sibulan in Sta Cruz, Davao Del Sur were relieved of their stress and discomfort after availing of the free medical and dental services from AboitizPower subsidiary Hedcor during the latter’s recent medical mission.

The event was even more fitting because it added color to the barangay’s 28th Araw ng Sibulan celebration last month.

The medical mission included a general health check-up and consultation, dental check-up and tooth extraction with the help of volunteer doctors from Municipal Health Department of Sta. Cruz. Hedcor employees also distributed prescription medicines to the beneficiaries. Residents also availed of the free dental check-up and tooth extraction offered by the dental team of the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples. The volunteer doctors and dentists were assisted by barangay health workers.

Aside from medical services, residents were also able to ease their stress through the beauty and wellness services offered by the senior students of Sibulan National High School. Their services included haircut, foot spa, and massage. These students used the equipment and supplies donated by Hedcor to support the school’s technical-vocational strand.

Hedcor is the run-ofiver hydropower arm of AboitizPower which operates four power facilities in Sibulan with a  combined rated capacity of 57.4 MW. (pr)
