The Foundation highlighted its anniversary with a photo exhibit at the Centri mall to celebrate the “local victories of barangays.”

Charlito Manlupig, founder and chairman emeritus of Balay Mindanao, said the group wanted to bring to the public’s attention the barangays in Mindanao and Visayas that have been devastated by typhoons, and war-torn villages in Caraga and the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Armm).

Manlupig said Balay Mindanao was able to provide sustainable livelihood aid to over 300 barangays in Mindanao and Visayas during the disasters.

“Sa dihang nabiktima kini sila sa  mga disaster, ato silang gi-organize ug natabangan nato sila… naubanan nato sa ilang  pagbangon, ug karon na-a na silay gamay nga negosyo,” Manlupig said. (nitz arancon)
