MISAMIS Oriental Gov. Yevgeny Vincente Emano yesterday renewed his support for the presidential bid of Vice President Binay in time for the start of the campaign period for candidates seeking national positions even as he claimed to be courting a suspension order because of this.

Speaking during the weekly flagaising ceremony at the capitol grounds, Emano said there was a possibility that he would be suspended from office before the elections, citing a “sympathizer from the intelligence community” who supposedly said that his political enemies were planning on booting him out from the capitol through trumped up charges.

“Of course, these are all politically motivated. I hope and pray their lies will not prevail,” said Emano, adding that it would not surprise him if his political enemies would use their influence.

Emano said, “They have done this in the past, and they have no qualms of doing this today to their political enemies.”

The governor said this even as he reminded capitol employees to vote for candidates based on qualifications and their pro-development stance.

He then praised Binay as “the most qualified of all the presidential candidates” who “has shown his sincerity in helping our province in all our development efforts.”

He said that if Binay succeeds, the capitol under him would have direct access to Malacanang.

“This would facilitate our efforts for development and progress not only for Misamis Oriental but also for the whole of Mindanao,” Emano said. (pio)
