HE has always kept his heart close to every Kagayanon. Over time, he has developed a character that is so accommodating to everyone. He is generous to a fault.
Councilor Reuben “DokBoboy” Roa Daba has been everywhere with his contagious smile and congenial demeanor. To be busy as a beaver, giving quality services to the people of Cagayan de Oro is DokBoboy’s way of reciprocating the mandate given to him by the electorate of the city.
DokBoboy is the chairperson of the City Council’s Committee on Social Services, vice chairperson of the Committee on Health, Sanitation and Health Insurance, and of the Committee on Cultural Communities.
A neophyte local legislator with a performance of a veteran, DokBoboy authored several ordinances and resolutions.
Surprised why your grandma and grandpa are on their Sunday’s best, smiling from ear-to-ear, excited to go on a date every Monday morning? DokBoboy is the “culprit.” Among his milestone legislations are the ordinance granting Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Free Admission in all Movie Houses in the City of Cagayan de Oro. The ordinance supports the improvement of the total well-being of the persons with disabilities, and that they then benefit the care and compassion in making their lives better amidst all their difficulties;
Victims of calamities are given just a reason to smile. Yehehey, DokBoboy authored the ordinance increasing the Financial Assistance to Victims of Calamities.
DokBoboy also co-authored the Ordinance creating the CDRRMD (Cagayan de Oro City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department) as a distinct and separate department whose one main function is to set direction towards disaster risk management programs of the city.
He is also one of the authors of an ordinance authorizing the construction of a Health Facility in Barangay Lumbia,
He counts as his major legislation the “The Cagayan de Oro Comprehensive Children’s Welfare Code of 2018.”
Executive Order No. 013195 of 2017 known as the Parental Code of Cagayan de Oro City was institutionalized, wherein it truly recognizes the vital role of every children in nation building, to protect every child’s right, and with the parental authority and responsibility towards every child.
Councilor Reuben “DokBoboy” Roa Daba, as the co-chairperson of the City Council for the Protection of Children (CCPC), has achieved a lot in working for the welfare and best interest of children through various programs and activities geared towards promoting a child-friendly community wherein inclusivity tantamount to other significant considerations at the core in order to ensure comprehensive growth and equal opportunities to all children.
He brought into the City Council’s legislative agenda the empowerment of Kagayanons.
He prides himself for contributing substantially to Cagayan de Oro City named as a Child-Friendly City of Northern Mindanao.
That is Councilor Reuben “Doc Boboy” Daba, the big man at the City Council with huge heart for the poor, powerless and vulnerable. Yehehey!
