BUTUAN City — Authorities busted a deal on illegal drugs inside the Chinese cemetery in Purok 10, Barangay Bancasi, this city on Wednesday. Police also discovered new players in the illegal drugs trade here.
Thousands of pesos worth of suspected shabu were seized in just two buy-bust operations involving drug personalities with no record yet in the city police.
Butuan City Police Office operatives arrested in a buy-bust operation Leonardo Alalum Brital alias Nardz, 39, and a resident of Purok Silangan Barangay Pequeno, this city.
Seized from Brital were five sachets of suspected shabu with estimated weight of one gram and Dangerous Drug Board value of P17,800, P1,400 buy-bust money, and cash amounting to P530. Brital is newly identified drug suspect.
In a separate buy-bust operation, city police arrested another newly identified drug suspect, Glenn Lopez, 19 years old. Seized from Lopez were mobile phones, P1,000 bill used as marked money, and suspected shabu worth P59,000.
Brital and Lopez are currently under the custody of the city police while charges are being prepped for the two drug suspects.
