Misamis Oriental Gov. Yevgeney Vincente Emano has instructed the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) to be in full operation during the Holy Week.

In full operation means the PDRRMO, the eight hospitals in Misamis Oriental and the Provincial Police Office will be obliged to render their services for 24 hours.

The places that they will be monitoring include, the Divine Mercy Shrine in El Salvador, Hinuklog Festival in Medina, Our lady of Fatima in Laguindangan, the Sipaka Heights in Talisayan, and the Balingoan port for those who wish to traverse to Camiguin Island.

These places have been identified as the most visited places during the Holy Week where they will be performing the Catholic ritual of the penitence.

Emano also directed all the mayors in the province, including the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Offices and all the barangay officials to coordinate and to perform their tasks well to achieve a peaceful and a secure Holy Week.

However, Emano added, the government cannot do it alone and that they would need the full cooperation of the people in the province.

Meanwhile, the Police Regional Office-10 is also on full alert status for the Holy Week.

Alagar spokesperson Supt. Lemuel Gonda told this paper that deployment to pilgrimage areas, churches, malls, tourist destinations, roads, and highways, including sea ports and airports, bus terminals,  public markets, and beaches, and resorts will be given a tighter security during the coming religious holidays.

They also have coordinated with the local governments, barangays and other law enforcement agencies, and force multipiers.
