Governor Yevgeny Vincente Emano is urging the leadership of the Philippine National Police in Misamis Oriental to double or triple the number of villages in the province that are now free from the proliferation of illegal drugs.

Emano said he highly believes in the capacity of PNP-Misor chief Senior Supt. Rolando Destura that he will multiply the 25 barangays declared by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-10) as drug free.

“I urge him (Destura) and this would also serve as a challenge that during his stint at least we would be able to achieve 50 percent or more of our barangays be freed from the drug menace,” the governor said.

Misamis Oriental has 424 barangays with 23 towns and two cities, Gingoog in the east and El Salvador in the west side of the province. (pio misor)
