Agpaoa declared that one such incident happened in his jurisdiction when a certain security guard name Junward Lacia assigned at Unitop and store supervisor Mary Jane Madrid brought a certain Anne Lopez, 35, and a resident of Chavez Compound, Barangay Carmen was allegedly accused of stealing items from the story.

Lopez denied the accusations and maintained she paid for all the items. However, upon reaching the store’s exit, she was accused by the security guard that she brought unpaid items in her bag.

The father of the victim, who is a businessman, vehemently denied the accusations saying her daughter only bought early Christmas gifts for her cousins.

They claimed that there was no stolen item but a mistake of the department store in making prices tag to the bought items by the alleged suspect.

The department store supervisor demanded from the suspect family to pay P65 thousand for the settlement of the case in which the family of the suspect managed to negotiate for a lower pay of P50 thousand.

The police blotter shows that the suspect was released after both parties amicably settled on Oct. 31 after the suspect’s party paid the amount of P50 thousand cash to the management of Unitop Store and was received by Unitop Store representatives Renalyn Lagbas and Mary Jane Madrid.

Agpaoa voluntarily issued the statement in public after he received information that Goking’s revelation is mentioning his station as part of the alleged negotiations made by the suspect’s family and the store representative.

Goking at the city council on Monday declined to name of the complainant who allegedly paid the policeman P50 thousand but was still made to spend days in jail.

He said he has already identified the policeman who will be summoned at the City Council committee hearing along with the management of the mall, to clarify the said issue.

Dili kami ang nag-demand of P50 thousand but it was the management of Unitop. We are on the process of rebuilding of the PNP because of the series of issues that have haunted us,” he said.

He admitted that there was a P50 thousand involved as the store management demanded.

Wala gyu’y labot ang kapolisan kay sila man ang nagsabot sa management. It was the Unitop who demanded to pay the amount of money from the suspect’s family,” he said.

Gold Star Daily asked Renalyn Lagbas for comment but replied that the management instructed her not to comment on the issue. (Lito Rulona)
