These land titles were distributed to 3,421 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) which are mostly farmers from different provinces of the region with an estimate of 6,005.51 hectares of land.

The ceremony is a part of the Department of Agrarian Reform (Dar)’s distribution of 31, 831 land titles nationwide simultaneous with the signing of the New Agrarian Emancipation Act last Friday, July 7, at the Malacañang Palace.

The act serves as a fulfillment of the promise made by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. during his first State of the Nation Address last July 2022. It absolves the amortization of principal payments, interest, and penalties on the land that farmers or landowners are cultivating.

The New Agrarian Emancipation Act will benefit 610,054 ARBs, amounting to P57.55 Billion total payables to the Land Bank of the Philippines.

DAR Secretary Conrado M. Estrella III stated that the act is a huge step in achieving food security in the country and giving the farmers importance for the service as they provide Filipinos with their daily nourishment.
