Zamboanga del Sur Gov. Antonio H. Cerilles is scheduled to welcome guests and participants in the upcoming National Schools Press Conference(NSPC) with the theme “Strengthening Freedom of Information through Campus Journalism” come Jan. 22 at  Megayon, Dao, Pagadian City which expects more or less 5,000 participants nationwide  including visitors and  technical working group.

The said event will last from Jan. 23-26.  This is a landmark activity of the province after a distant 32 years since its last conduct way back February 1985 in Zamboanga Peninsula.

The journalism competition will be graced by the presence of DepEd Secretary, Leonor Briones, Undersecretary for Administration, Alain Del Pascua, Undersecretary for Curriculum and Instruction,  Dina Ocampo, Assistant Secretary for Legal and Legislative Affairs, Tonisito Umali, and Undersecretary for Accounting and Employee Account Management Division, Victoria Catibog, DepEd Regional Directors, Regional Officials and personnel, and other dignitaries invited to witness the grand affair.

Meanwhile, a banquet will be tendered on Jan. 22 at the Subanen Hall, Farmers’ Haven, Dao, Pagadian City sponsored by the Province of Zamboanga del Sur and the city of Pagadian which will follow right after the opening ceremony of the same date. (pr)
