There have been allegations that the police operation target, Mark John Pagaluyos, 31, and his 30-year old wife Sheryl Grace Tapales were in bed, sleeping, when police barged into their house and riddled them with bullets without provocation.

Pagaluyos was considered a “high-value target” by the police for his alleged links to a crime syndicate in Lanao del Norte.

Police earlier alleged that Pagaluyos and his wife, who was seven months pregnant, were armed and fought back.

Bacang said CHR investigators would try to find out if it was really a legitimate police operation and if the couple really fired shots at the police.

“We will determine kung dun aba gyu’y abuso nga nahitabo,” she said. (lito rulona)
