THE 18th City Council during its regular session this week presided approved an ordinance amending Section 6 (b) of Ordinance No. 13178-2016, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Socialized Housing Program.
The approved ordinance excludes the Macanhan Relocation Project (MRP) in Barangay Carmen from the Repayment Scheme based on the acquisition cost of the lot, and the adoption of the previous MRP price per square meter as specified therein.
In its Resolution No. 02-2017, the Task Force Emancipation of Piso-Piso Beneficiaries requested the City Council to amend the ordinance.
According to the task force, the acquisition cost of Lots 3817 and 3818 used as MRP is only P40 per square meter which is deemed disadvantageous to MRP phases 1 and 2 beneficiaries.
In view of these considerations and to be fair and just to those who have already fully paid, the task force said it is proper to adopt the previous MRP price per meter. (clo)
