THREE  barangays are set to implement their programs and projects for the year.

This, after the 18th City Council on its regular session has adopted separate resolutions returning to Barangays 7, 23 and 36 their ordinances covering their Annual Budgets for 2019 with the information that the same are in order and may be given force and effect.

With an estimated income of P2.7 million, Barangay 7 has allocated P297,622 representing its 20% Development Fund for the declogging of drainage system, P134,723 Calamity Fund and P269,447 for its 10-percent Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) fund.

Meanwhile, an appropriation of P353,365 was earmarked by Barangay 23 for the declogging of canals, installation and maintenance of street lighting system and barangay signage, rehabilitation of pathways, and drainage system, and solid waste management. This will be taken from the barangay’s estimated income of P2.7 million.

The barangay’s 10-percent Youth Development Fund in the amount of P270,433 will be utilized for training and seminars, socio-cultural and sports development program, anti-drug symposium, office supplies expenses, HIV/AIDS awareness, workshop on eco-brick activity, team building, purchase of laptop/desktop, chairs, tables and cabinet.

For its part, Barangay 36 has an estimated income of P2.4 million. Its 20-percent Development Fund pegged at P316,620 has been allocated for the declogging of canals, rehabilitation and improvement of daycare center and installation of street lighting facilities. The barangay’s 10-percent SK fund in the amount of P244,201 is intended for socio-cultural activities, sports development, training expenses and other maintenance and operating expenses.

The legislations were reviewed and endorsed by the committees on barangay affairs and on laws and rules chaired by Councilors Yan Lam Lim and Ian Mark Nacaya, respectively. (sp)
