This was the gist of the statement of Jose Pantoja, city information officer regarding the non-issuance of business permits of the businesses of Marianito Alemania.

For one, Pantoja said, the persons representing his businesses are the same. Also, the business applied for in his bake shops are for “rice and corn retailers.”

He added that Alemania’s rice and corn warehouse is not licensed by the National Food Authority and that his employees did not have Pag-ibig membership.

“Plaza Alemania Hotel is really not a hotel as it is an inn,” Pantoja pointed out.

To note, it’s former owner named it as “Iligan Day Inn Plaza” before ownership passed on to the Alemanias. It has also been learned that city officials used the facilities of “ Edge FM,” a radio network owned and operated by Alemania. Pantoja did not comment on the radio station.

Earlier, Alemania admitted to operating businesses without permits adding that he doesn’t want the matter to be made public. Alemania, who is running for mayor of this city claimed that they had already complied with the necessary paper work and made the necessary payments early January this year yet before the deadlines but the permits are not signed yet.
