THE Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the cityun J.R. Borja General Hospital will be functional by the first week of March this year.

This was manifested by Amelia Milvar, finance officer of JRBGH, in response to the query of Councilor Reuben Daba during the meeting of the City Council committee on health and sanitation and health insurance chaired by Councilor Gaane last Thursday.

The committee tackled the proposed Memorandum of Understanding between the DOH and city government for the Health Facility Enhancement Program (HFEP) at the JRBGH amounting to P198 million.

During the meeting, Daba, chair of the committee on social services, expressed concern over the delayed opening of the ICU.

Milvar said the JRBGH had already discussed the opening of the ICU. However, the city hospital is still in the process of completing all the deficiencies and other minor repairs of the facility, she said.

Naa man gyu’y mga tiles nga naay mga deperensya, mao nang gipangepair lang sa tanan,” she explained.

She said the equipment is already set but other deficiencies should be repaired as one of the requirements for a License to Operate. (sp)
