Jail Officer 3 Orlando Montalban said they were elated that the city jail is now certified drug-free under the supervision of Supt. Erwin Kenny Ronquillo.

He said the Drug-Free Certification Program is a pioneering project of the BJMP in Region10 to counter illegal drug operations in jails with the support of other uniformed services, Department of Interior and Local Government, Department of Health, the city government, and PDEA-10 as the certifying agency.

“Ang issue sa certification natuman human ang mga personahe sa city jail sama sa pag-sustain sa anti-illegal drugs campaign og pagmugna sa drug-free workplace policy og ang sunod-sunod nga orientation drug free seminar sa detinado og ilang pamilya,” he said.

Montalban said a jail is certified as drug-free if no illegal drugs were found during a series of “Greyhound Operations” and have to be validated by members of the intelligence groups composed of the PDEA, Cagayan de Oro City Police Office, and other government agencies.

He said the issuance of certification for a drug-free jail facility is also the result of the series of drug tests of BJMP personnel and to the inmates.

“The jail management shows consistent efforts on anti-illegal drug campaigns in the communities and the conduct, as well, of random drug testing among inmates and personnel, including the warden,” said Montalban.

He said the certification was issued after Ronquillo presented to PDEA regional director Wilkins Villanueva all of their documents, activities, and policies.

“Ang maong pag-ila gi-isip sa city jail management nga dako nga kadaugan sa kampanya batok sa pagkuyanap sa illegal drugs,” Montalban said.
