A bright and sunny day at Cagayan de Oro College (COC) as 69 cute little kids finished their 15 days of free reading class. This was COC’s second year to hold a free lesson for children, coming from nearby barangays of Carmen, CDO for free; where kids who are upcoming grade one and kinder were thought ‘reading in arts’ using fun learning variations of child friendly technics, which makes learning fun and easy for young students.
“It is COC’s second year to host this event and it is not necessary for the parents to enrol their children in COC to be able to join this free service. “This is part of COC’s firm stance on the importance of education, in this free 15 days reading session we also opted to incorporate writing in their curriculum” Ms.Ruth M. Balmores COC Dean said.
The following day COC gave another reason to its College students to aim high and work hard; the college itself has just recently introduced to the public the schools Topnotcher’s from different courses that managed to enter the TOP 10 spot in four Licensure exams, first was Cherrielyn G. Dahan – Top 8 April 2014 Criminologists Licensure Exam, second Barbilou Q. Labial – Top 9 August 2014 Licensure Exam for Teachers, third is Ernest Vincent D. Rasonable – Top 7 October 2014 Mechanical Engineers Licensure Exam and last but not the least Franchetter Monique I. Abalde – Top 3 Criminologists Licensure Exam.
COC is proud to introduce and award their most productive and top students with gracious and helpful gifts one of such is a check worth P50,000 given to Franchetter Monique I. Abalde for attaining the top 3 spot in the recently concluded Criminology board exam.
An Emotional Ms Abalde, shares to her fellow board passers and future takers her experiences and journey, that helped her along the way to where she is now, with parting words that touch everyone’s heart student, guest, family and friends “that the road to success is never easy, but worth it, I am thankful for you all who have helped me along the way and believed in me even when I have doubted myself.”
As the day came to a closure, Ms Abalde success will always be remembered by future students who aspires to be as or even more successful in their academics.
