Columbia celebrates 80th Anniversary with Camera Club of CDO

Columbia celebrated its 80th year of offering superb and high-quality products during the 11th Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photowalk Cagayan de Oro – Misamis Oriental Leg which began in October 6 and ended on October 19, 2018 organized by Camera Club of Cagayan de Oro.

During the photo contest participants were tasked to deliver their best shot of Cagayan de Oro and its people by capturing the day-to-day lives of Kagay-anons. This was then followed by an exhibit at the 4th Level, Gaisano City Mall, that ran from October 15 to 21, and finally, capping off the CDO-Misor leg was its awards night held last October 19 at the Centrio Ayala Mall.

The Photowalk was headed by Clement Dampal II and Angelo Rodriguez Jr., and was presented by Camera Club of Cagayan de Oro, Columbia (Platinum Sponsor), Centrio Ayala Mall, Gaisano, and the Province of Misamis Oriental – with resource speaker Photographer Lowell Lim Labis an award winning photographer.

During the event Columbia Cluster Sales Head Norgelyn Bihag, commended the photographers for a job well done and presented awesome prizes courtesy of Columbia to the winners. She and along with her group also showcased their fully redesigned store as well as explain in detail how Columbia’s technology can help them in their photography career.

“Our redesigned store comes at the heels of Columbia Sportswear’s 80th anniversary. 8 decades of trying stuff and making already perfect gear even better with industry leading technologies like the Omni-Tech, Omni-Heat, and Omni-Grip technology, to name a few. To commemorate this milestone, Columbia is bringing retro back with the limited-edition Bugaboo 80th Anniversary Interchange Jacket, that is perfect for outdoor photographers by protecting them from any weather,” Bihag said.

According to her, when Bugaboo first came out, it was a superb jacket due to its 3-in-1 jacket concept that kept you warm, dry and protected from the elements. Now with the revamp, she explains it now features Columbia’s proprietary Omni-Heat thermal reflective liner and Omni-Tech waterproof/breathable critically seam-sealed weather protection, making it even warmer and drier than its predecessor.

Formally closing the event the camera club along with Columbia representatives presented the awards and certificates to the following: (Top 1-15) Jiamila Panaraag Emy Lou Estera, Quintin Glen delos Reyes, Jon Vill Quirog, Angelo Rodriguez Jr, Kenneth Chua, Carlo James Magparoc, Jade Anthony Pilongo, Jiamila Panaraag, Elieonai Gonzales, Mein Gein Amolo, Kim Pabilona, Angie Mabini, Alvin Curay, and Salvador Calang.

Meanwhile the People’s Choice and Corporate Award went to Angelo Rodriguez Jr, CDO MisOr Leg 1 Winning Image Kenneth Chua, and CDO MisOr Leg 2 Winning Image: Marlon Lapuz.
