Gingoog City — A police officer, who figured in a motorcycle accident last Saturday, has been declared by attending physicians to be out of harm’s way but would still need more days to recuperate.

Police traffic Investigator SPO2 Michael Maestrado said PO3 Arden Cartagena, 30, a resident of Purok 2, Barangay Odiongan, this city, was riding his motorcycle last Saturday along Lunao Highway when he collided with another motorcycle driven by Jay Elango, 19, a resident of Purok 7, Barangay Lunao, here.

Cartagena has been assigned to the Medina Police Station, added Maestrado.

The investigation revealed that Cartagena was coming from Medina en route to his residence when he crashed into Elango who was driving a borrowed Yamaha STX.

Nabangga iyang gisakyan nga (motorcycle) sa laing (motorcycle) nga iyang gisundan nga mikalit lang ug liko pawala,” Maestrado quoted a witness as saying.

The policeman suffered bruises and injuries to his face and other parts of his body added Maestrado.

He said Elango suffered minor injuries.
