COUNCILOR Ian Mark Nacaya on Monday urged the city council’s public utilities committee to  start an inquiry into Globe Telecom’s ringback tone and data usage charges.

Nacaya asked Councilor Teodulfo Lao Jr., the committee chairman, to summon Globe’s local representatives so they could explain the charges.

During his special report, Nacaya complained that the telecommunications company continued to charge him for his ringback tone and data usage when he already informed the firm that these services were not needed by him.

He said Globe continued to charge him P15 a month for his personal mobile phone’s ringback tone, and for data usage which he already asked to be canceled.

“Kadtong akong gibayad nga P15 monthly  for ringback tone nga  wala na nako kinahanglana, ako ra to. Dawbi kung hundreds of thousand experience the same thing?” he asked rhetorically.

Nacaya said the ringback tone was also a cause of embarrassment to him at times.

“Ang  pinaka ngil-ad kay hatagan kag ringback tone nga morag sawi kaayo nga ga-kanta. Mahibal-an lang nato kay gakantiyawan ko sa nanawag sa ako,” he said. (nitz arancon)
