Densing said his client, Maria Lynette Motoomull Carmona, of legal age has been acquitted by the court but only after being imprisoned for two years.

In his 17-page decission, Judge Giovanni Alfred Navarro of the Regional Trial Court Branch 27, here, acquitted Carmona stating: “Time and again, court have been guided by the principle that it would be better to set free ten men who might probably be guilty of the crime charged than to convict one innocent man for a crime he did not commit.”

Carmona was arrested by the police a day after the killing of three minors, Ricardo Cezar, Bernie Teatro, and Carl Joseph Alpuerto on the even of June 26, 2013 in Purok 6, Barangay 17, this city.

Densing said his client was arrested on allegation that she conspired with the still unidentified killers as alleged by a witness in court.

It was learned that before the killing, a witness testified that he heard somebody using cellphone who he believed was Carmona who utttered: “Positive Bernie is here.” Then a few minutes after hearing the said words, several gunshot rang out. Carmona testified as she confessed to the court that she only bought a sachet of shabu worth P500 from one of the victim, Teatro said Densing.

He also said it was later found out that there was another woman in the premises when the incident happened who probably killed the victims whose identity was a certain Gina Mae Lim.
