COUNCILOR Reuben Daba, chair of the City Council committee on social services, on Monday aired reports that the Land Transportation Office (LTO-10) allegedly refused to accept the medical certificate issued by the City Health Office.

Daba said he received a call through a radio station from a concerned citizen who complained about this.

Nagreklamo ang atong kaigsoonan nganong dili dawaton ang medical certificate gikan sa ato sa City Health Office… ang ilang gadawaton ang accredited kuno,” he said.

Daba questioned the policy of the LTO saying the agency is considered a partner of the city since both are government institutions.

Dako kaayo akong katingala tungod kay partners man unta kita,” he said.

Based on the guidelines of the CHO, the purpose of the issuance of a medical certificate from the City Health Office is to ensure that all clients securing medical certificate for employment, driver’s license, and detention are free from all infectious disease.

For his part, Councilor Romeo Calizo said he observed that the LTO does not acknowledge CHO.  (sp)
