THE ordinance accepting the offer of the Jaime V. Ongpin Foundation, Inc. to donate to the city government sleeping materials for use of the CDO Boxing Team, and authorizing Mayor Oscar Moreno to sign the Deed of Donation and Acceptance executed by the donor in favor of the City Government of Cagayan de Oro under the terms and conditions stipulated therein has been approved by the 18th council during its 105th regular session presided over by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin Uy.
The donation consists of 60 foam beds and 60 pillows.
Lawyer Jose Bernal of the City Legal Office finds that the donation ordinance in order and not contrary to laws, public moral, good customs, and public order/policy.
Bernal added that the donation’s intention is laudable since it tries to address environmental and health concerns of the recipient local government’s poor sector. (sp)
