Councilor Ian Mark Nacaya in his special report during the City Council regular session this week, as he brought to the plenary the water problems in the barangays of Indahag and Balubal.

Nacaya  said during the campaign period last year, he personally witnessed residents falling in line beside a canal in Barangay Indahag just to draw water from a broken pipe. He said this disturbed him.

Nacaya said he instructed some staff to visit the barangay and check whether their situation has improved.

The councilor said he received a  letter from the barangay chairman of Indahag asking the city’s help to develop additional water source.

The school has no permanent facility to serve the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene in Schools (WinS) program, he added.

Councilor Nacaya said water problems are also plaguing Barangay Balubal. (clo)
