THE City Council during its regular session this week has authorized City Mayor Oscar Moreno to enter into and sign the Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Agriculture (DA-10), covering the grant of one unit mobile shredder to the city government.
This is in line with the mandate of DA-10 to promote agricultural development through a bottom-up self-reliant farming systems approach that will emphasize equity, productivity and sustainability in the use of agricultural resources. The DA-10 also aims to provide integrated services to ensure the increase in the farm productivity as well as farmers income.
Under the agreement, DA shall transfer to the city the project with an actual cost of P190,000 per unit, turn-over the project to the city as grant scheme, regularly monitor the activities of the city, including the operation and maintenance of the project.
For its part, the city shall submit to DA-10 the necessary documents which include the list of recipients of the project for record and monitoring purposes right after the distribution and the utilization, operation, and activity report related to the project. (cli)
