Cagayan de Oro City legislators will now be monitoring whether ordinances enacted are being implemented.

This, with the approval of Resolution No. 12745-2017, creating an oversight committee that will look into the matter.

The oversight committee is chaired by the vice mayor, who was given the authority to appoint its members.

Councilor Teodulfo  Lao filed the resolution after noting that some of the ordinances enacted by the legislative body from previous years are not being implemented.

It may be recalled that last week Lao aired his concern over this after Councilor Nadya Emano-Elipe reported that some of the city’s athletes, who won medals in national and international competitions, have not received cash incentives from the city government as provided for under a city ordinance.
