Mayor Joseph Peñas, an alumnus and former CJC professor coordinated with the school administrators, the Drug Enforcement Agency, and other members of the city anti-drug abuse council to start educating the students about the negative effects of illegal drugs.

“This forum is not just for us but for the next generations to come. The drug problem is getting worse,” Peñas said.

He urged students to live what they learned in school and to preserve the image of their alma mater and be proud of it.

“You could no longer distinguish right from wrong when you are into prohibited drugs,” he said.

The PDEA was given ample time to make an in-depth presentation about drug abuse.
