DILG-10 reiterates ban on pedicabs in major roads

Department of the Interior and Local Government-10 reminds the public that pedicabs and tricycles are prohibited to traverse national highways unless there is no other alternative route.

With this, DILG 10 Regional Director Arnel Agabe urged Northern Mindanao municipal and city mayors to heed this call.

Nanawagan naman ta sa atong mga local chief executives, especially sa atong mayors, nga pag-abot sa pagpaagi sa atong mga pedicabs and tricycles sa atong mga national highways, this should be regulated,” he said.

The said vehicles should not operate on national highways utilized by four-wheel vehicles greater than four tons and where normal speed exceeds 40 kilometers per hour.

Recognizing that pedicab and tricycle operations provide livelihood and income to the Filipinos, Agabe underscored that the guideline focuses on the safety of the riding public, motor vehicles, and to the driver themselves.

Unta masabtan sa atong mga drivers nga para ra gihapon ni sa ilang seguridad ug sa ilahang mga pasahero, labot sa ubang sakyanan na gaagi sa atong national highways.” (dilg x)
