ILIGAN City — The Department of Interior and Local Government – Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (DILG-Armm) in Marawi City held here recently a Barangay Local Government Unit Enhancement Training in preparation for the rebuilding of the city.
Armm-DILG Director of Marawi Norhaine N. Marohombsar said the training was aimed at refreshing the participants and enhance their capacities to perform their duties as officials in their respective barangays.
She said that the training program included such topics as Governance, Disaster Risk Reduction Management and Response, Countermeasures against Radicalism, Anti-Illegal Drugs Campaign, Protection of Internally Displaced Persons, and other sub-topics.
Towards the end of the training program, the participants had a workshop where groups presented their plans of action to undertake in their respective barangays in connection with the different topics they took up in the training program, she added.
The training program was a joint project of the Philippine National Police, DILG-armm, AFP, the local government of Marawi City, and the Liga ng mga Barangay ng Pilipinas.
