DIGOS CITY — A joint law enforcement operation against illegal drugs netted at least three drug pushers operating in this city and seized illegal drugs, explosives, and drug paraphernalia in their possession.

Ariel Enriquez, 37, resident of Sitio Acaciahan, Barangay Zone-1, this city, yielded about P740 thousand worth of drugs believed to be shabu placed inside 48 plastic sachets when the authorities led by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) raided his house on Friday morning.

Chief Insp. Jose Teody Condesa, CIDG provincial team leader said upon receiving a tip off from reliable sources, the CIDG in coordination with the provincial anti-illegal drugs special operations task force (Paidsotf), Digos City anti illegal drugs special operations task force (CAID SOTF), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PD EA) immediately crafted a surveillance operation that lasted for more than a month.

After it was confirmed, Condesa secured an arrest warrant from General San-tos City where a composite team was formed to conduct a raid on Friday morning that resulted to the arrest of Enriquez.

Aside from suspected drugs, the operating team recovered a hand grenade, .22 caliber ammunitions, weighing scale, and drug paraphernalia inside Enriquez residence. An Isuzu trooper, and a motorcycle reportedly owned by the suspect was brought to the local highway patrol group to determine if it has proper documentation.

A certain Randy Gon-zales, a resident of Purok Manggahan, Barangay Matti, Digos City also fell in the hands of the authorities during the sting operation.

Supt. Querubin Mana-lang, Digos City police chief identified the other suspected drug trafficker as one Alan Dano Balaga, a resident of Zone-1, here.

Manalang said Balaga was caught during a buy-bust operation on Thursday night wherein he fell into a police bait using a poseur-buyer.
