DID you know that there is money in government, in billions of pesos yet, that are collected from people who obtain their drivers’ licenses for the first time or secure renewals thereof, as well as from vehicles being registered nationwide, which are intended to be used for educating drivers on road and vehicle safety?

Lawyer Jelly Nacino told me on Friday when we had a chance meeting that it would seem the money had been pocketed by unscrupulous government officials, considering that there are no drivers’ education seminars that have been conducted at any point in time.

Representing a nationwide organization of transport industry leaders with inventor Orlando Marquez as his client, Nacino said he filed, just last week, graft complaints against officials who, his clients believe, are responsible for pocketing the money.

Orlando Marquez, an inventor who has been named to the Road Board of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) because of his being an operator of public utility jeepneys, should be heard by the government regarding his quest to use human waste as a substitute for gasoline, and as a source of electricity and cooking gas. I went to see him at his Road Board office sometime ago and was I regaled and awed with a technology he has perfected with the help of science-minded associates from the Philippine Inventor Society which makes beneficial use of human waste!

For about one hour, Marquez, with an associate by the name of Joseph Abeleda, gave me an exclusive briefing on this awesome technology which, when developed to its full potential, will make the Philippines stop using oil and gasoline, produce A-1 fertilizer which could rejuvenate our soils almost overnight, and then generate electricity which could supply towns and cities without using diesel or other fossilized fuel.

To those reading this column now, please take note that Marquez and Joseph were not talking in the realm of what is yet to come––the technology of using human waste for energy is already here, and is in fact in danger of being pirated now by other countries, if the government refuses to recognize its potential. Read more of this next issue, God willing.

Reactions are literally pouring in regarding our item here that there is already a technology developed by Filipino inventors which can transform human waste as gasoline and liquefied petroleum gas substitutes, and to be used as sources of electricity that can provide power to cities and communities across the country.

Many are asking why this technology developed by Marquez, and by his associates at the Philippine Investors Society, is not being pursued by the government, under its past and present leaderships.

The 21st yearly session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 21) to the 1992 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change slated in November to December 2015 is yet another step in the right direction, but, sadly, it is largely inutile, not going to change anything.

The Philippines, like other places in the world similarly threatened by global warming, will continue to be in the grip of deadly disasters arising from environmental hazards, and a mere declaration asking us to set aside a week in our lives to think about climate change, and even another meeting of world experts in a resort in Mexico, can not really save us.

Why is this so? Because, as world environmental experts have already established, the problem about climate change and global warming is too huge to be solved by humans. The only way to really solve global warming and climate change is to recognize it as what it really is: a curse from God for mankind’s having turned its back on Him. I am sure many will continue to scoff at this idea, but my suggestion is that, those who are looking into the problem who have not even now found any solution despite spending millions of dollars already, may want to know what God, through the Holy Bible, is saying on the matter.

What is God saying about climate change and global warming? Let us read it once more, from Deuteronomy 28:15, 22-24, which says: “However, if you do not obey the Lord your God and do not carefully follow all his commands and decrees I am giving you today, all these curses will come on you and overtake you… “The Lord will strike you with… scorching heat and drought… The sky over your head will be bronze, the ground beneath you iron…. The Lord will turn the rain of your country into dust and powder; it will come down from the skies until you are destroyed…”

Clearly, all around us now are having scorching heat and drought. Temperatures have become so hot the sky over our heads is bronze, and much of the ground has become hard as iron. There is no more rain, and instead, what we are having, courtesy of erupting volcanoes, are dust and powder coming from the skies.

If we do not turn back and listen to God again (by reading His Bible) and do not follow His commands and decrees, perdition and destruction awaits us. So while there is still time, we must go back to God. Read His Bible and obey His commands.
