Iligan City — A drug suspect sprained his legs while in the process of attempting to escape from the authorities who were pursuing him 9:50 pm Monday.

The police in station 4 at Tubod, this city under Insp. James Daleon identified the suspect as Christopher Zalzos, 28, of Purok 10, Tambacan, this city. The incident happened at Mahayahay this city.

When the suspect realized that he was dealing with operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the National Bureau of Investigations, he attempted to run and when he saw a fence along his escape route, he tried to jump over it and sprained his legs in the process and thus was not able to run further.

He was then taken to the Don Gregorio Lluch Memorial Hospital at Palao where he is still confined as of press time. The police found several sachets of suspected shabu in his person.
