Drunk cop sued for firing gun

A police officer is in trouble following the filing of criminal and administrative charges against him for firing a gun while under the influence of alcohol last Friday evening in Barangay Gusa.

Chief Insp. Allan Curato, chief, police station 3 Agora identified the policeman as PO3 Zosimo Jale, 33, a resident of Purok 3-A in Barangay Gusa assigned at the City Public Safety Company of Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo) as intelligence operative.

Investigation showed that Jale fired his gun four times although it did not hit anyone but scaring the wits out of his neighbors.

As this happened the cop allegedly mauled his neighbor identified as Alex Yacapin, 19, without apparent reason.

Dili pa ma-determine unsa nga armas iyang gigamit pagpabuto kay wala man na-recover,  gitaguan siguro dayon,” Curato said.

Meanwhile, Cocpo spokesman Chief Insp. Mardy Hortillosa emphasized that Cocpo under the leadership of Senior Supt. Robert Roy Bahian will not tolerate erring and abusive police officers.

He added that criminal case together with the complainants and the administrative charges are being prepared against Jale.

Para matubag niya sa legal nga paagi ang iyang sayop,” said Hortillosa. (a.l. ricalde)
