ZAMBOANGA City — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD-9) sent 15,000 food packs for families displaced by the ongoing fighting in Marawi City.

Ivan Eric Salvador, DSWD regional information officer, said the family food packs have arrived  at one of the relief operation centers in Linamon, Lanao del Norte.

Salvador said they sent the food packs as augmentation to the relief operations for the Marawi City displaced families as requested by the DSWD central office.

He said that each family food pack contains six kilos rice; four corned beef cans; four cans sardines; and half dozen sachet of three-in-one coffee.

Fighting continues to date as the government security forces continue its effort to flush out the remaining Maute group members still holed out in Marawi City. (pna)
